The Creature Comforts Collective ("we," "us," or "our") operates the Creature Comforts mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your information when you use our App.

We take your privacy seriously. Your journal entries, emotional check-ins, and personal reflections belong to you. We will never sell your personal information or use it for advertising purposes.

Please read this policy carefully. By using the App, you agree to the practices described here.

1. Information We Collect

Information you provide directly:

• Name and email address when you create an account
• Your dog's name, nickname, breed, age, health information, veterinarian details, and microchip ID. Providing pet health information, veterinarian details, and microchip information is entirely optional.
• Journal entries, including text, voice memos, and photos
• Emotional check-in selections through the Feelings Fetcher
• Care schedule information including feeding times, medications, and appointments
• Wellness goals you set within the App
• Any other information you choose to enter

Information collected automatically:

• Location data, used only for walk tracking and weather information in your journal entries
• Walk routes and distances when you use the walk tracker
• App usage data including features used and activities completed
• Device information including device type and operating system version
• Subscription and purchase information processed through Apple's App Store

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information only to provide and improve the App experience. Specifically we use it to:

• Deliver personalized activity recommendations based on your emotional check-ins
• Display weather information in your journal entries
• Track your walks and save your routes
• Generate your care schedule and reminders
• Operate the treat rewards system
• Process your subscription through Apple's App Store
• Send you notifications if you have opted in
• Improve the App based on how features are used

We do not use your information for advertising. We do not sell your information to anyone. We do not use your journal entries, emotional data, or personal reflections to train artificial intelligence models.

3. How We Store Your Information

Your data is stored securely using Supabase, a trusted cloud database provider. All data is encrypted in transit and at rest.

Your journal entries and emotional check-in data are private by default. No one at The Creature Comforts Collective reads your journal entries. They are stored securely and accessible only to you.

If you delete a journal entry, the associated media including photos and voice memos is deleted along with it. If you delete your account, all of your data is permanently and irreversibly deleted from our systems.

4. Location Data

The App requests access to your location for two purposes only: to track your walks using GPS and to display current weather information in your journal entries.

Location access is optional. You can use the App without enabling location permissions, but walk tracking and weather features will not be available.

We do not share your location data with third parties except as necessary to provide the weather feature through our weather service provider [WEATHER SERVICE NAME]. Your walk data is private and deletable at any time.

5. Third Party Services

The App uses the following third party services to operate:

Supabase: Our backend database provider. Supabase stores your account information, journal entries, and app data securely. Supabase's privacy policy is available at supabase.com/privacy.

[WEATHER SERVICE NAME]: Used to retrieve current weather conditions for your location when you create a journal entry. Only your general location is shared for this purpose.

Apple App Store: Subscription payments and in-app purchases are processed entirely through Apple. We do not have access to your payment card information. Apple's privacy policy is available at apple.com/legal/privacy.

We do not use third party advertising networks, behavioral tracking tools, or data brokers.

6. Children's Privacy

The App is intended for users 13 years of age and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us at the address below and we will delete that information promptly.

7. Your Rights and Choices

You have the following rights regarding your data:

Access: You can view all information stored in your profile within the App at any time.

Correction: You can update your personal information and dog information at any time within the App.

Deletion: You can delete individual journal entries or care schedule items at any time. You can delete your entire account and all associated data permanently through the App settings. Account deletion is irreversible.

Export: You can export your journal entries, walk data, and care schedule data from within the App.

Notifications: You can opt out of notifications at any time through your device settings or within the App.

Location: You can revoke location permissions at any time through your device settings.

8. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, all of your data is permanently deleted within 30 days. Anonymized, non-identifiable usage statistics may be retained for internal analytics purposes.

9. Security

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information from unauthorized access, loss, or misuse. Your data is encrypted in transit using industry-standard TLS encryption and encrypted at rest within our database.

No method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure. While we work hard to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make changes we will update the effective date at the top of this page. If we make significant changes we will notify you through the App or by email. Your continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.

11. International Users

The Creature Comforts Collective is based in the United States. By using the App, you understand that your information may be processed and stored in the United States.
